2020 Pandemic Reflection

The Pandemic of 2020 will for sure go down in history, but what for? I think we are still at a point that we can get this thing under control and contained, but it is going to take close to perfect execution from those in power to do so. In short, I guess I actually don't have much faith in those in power getting this under control. Trump eliminated Obama Administration programs built for this exact pandemic! That alone set us back as soon as COVID-19 became relevant.

My personal experience during this pandemic has been quite interesting. I have gone from a train commuter to my job as an x-ray technologist, to probably never wanting to take the train again and commuting to work in my car daily. In terms of work, my job duties changed quite drastically during the months of April and May. I was pulled from my normal job to help at our COVID Respiratory Clinic here in Palo Alto. I was assisting with this clinic because of the major spike in COVID cases here in Santa Clara county. I was very happy to help with this clinic and help these patients in need. I was indeed worried about catching COVID, but part of my job is to help others, so I know what risks I signed up for. I am back to my normal duties, but it seems we are currently on the brink of a second shut down. I still think there will be a lot more history to come with this crazy year of 2020!
